Overview Precision Sales Recruiting is representing a growing HVAC distributor that is seeking a
Territory Sales Representative to drive growth and market development across key regions in upstate New York.
This is a newly created position, and the
first hire in Syracuse , focused on expanding the companyâs presence across Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo. The Syracuse location will serve as the central operating base for the territory.
This role is ideal for a sales professional who is entrepreneurial, motivated, and eager to build a territory from the ground up. The company is seeking a
growth-minded teammate who can develop contractor and retail relationships, grow market share, and represent the brand with technical expertise and professionalism.
Note: The listed territories are
not exclusive to this position. The selected candidate will collaborate with leadership and other team members to help expand the companyâs overall regional presence.
Key Responsibilities - Develop and expand relationships with contractors, service companies, and retail HVAC dealers throughout Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo.
- Represent HVAC product lines with a strong understanding of system types, tonnage, and technical differentiators.
- Execute in-person territory development, including prospecting, sales calls, site visits, and relationship management.
- Manage lead flow from inside sales teams and follow up on appointments and opportunities.
- Maintain consistent CRM discipline, including accurate activity tracking, pipeline updates, and follow-up coordination.
- Collaborate with sales leadership to shape local operational processes and establish a strong regional presence.
- Travel regularly within the assigned territory. Overnight travel is not required.
Candidate Profile - 2 to 5 years of B2B HVAC or related technical equipment sales experience.
- Experience selling to contractors, technicians, and retail HVAC shops.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC products, systems, and terminology.
- Proven ability to discuss system types, tonnage, and product differentiators with trade professionals.
- Backgrounds in inside sales are welcome if the candidate demonstrates technical strength and a proactive, hunter-style approach.
- Titles of interest include Territory Sales Representative, HVAC Account Executive, Inside Sales Representative ready for field transition, and B2B Technical Sales Specialist.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently while collaborating with company leadership.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms is required. Experience with Zoho CRM is a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Location and Travel Requirements - Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY (Zip 13202) . This represents approximately a 60 to 75 minute commute radius .
- Preferred residential areas include Syracuse, Liverpool, Camillus, Fayetteville, Rochester, Buffalo, and nearby suburbs along the I-90 corridor.
- A valid driverâs license and reliable vehicle are required.
- Regular regional travel throughout Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo is expected. No overnight travel is required.
- Relocation is not required.
