Purchasing Manager
$* *100k/yr + DOE
Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 5:00pm
Are you a purchasing professional ready to take the next step in your career? Our client is looking for a Purchasing Manager to oversee all procurement activities, develop and maintain supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, ensure cost-effective purchasing, and the time delivery of quality materials and components. The Purchasing Manager supervises a small team of buyers and works closely with production, engineering, and quality departments to support operational needs and customer demands.
Responsibilities:
Manage and mentor a team of buyers, setting clear goals and ensuring accountability.
Assign purchasing activities, monitor workloads, and provide training/development.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Source and purchase raw materials, components, and services needed for hydraulic cylinder production.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to ensure cost savings and favorable agreements.
Develop, evaluate, and maintain vendor relationships to ensure reliability, quality, and timely delivery.
Monitor market trends and supplier performance, making recommendations for changes as needed.
Collaborate with production and engineering to forecast material needs and avoid shortages or excess inventory.
Ensure purchased materials meet specifications, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
Resolve supplier issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing in a timely manner.
Work with accounting on purchase orders, invoicing accuracy, and cost tracking.
Implement purchasing best practices, policies, and procedures.
Track KPIs related to supplier performance, cost savings, and inventory levels.
Provide regular reporting to management on purchasing activities, cost reduction efforts, and supply chain risks.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience, preferably in a manufacturing or machining environment.
2+ years of leadership/supervisory experience managing buyers or purchasing staff.
Benefits & Pay:
$100k per year and above, depending on experience
