Principal Associate: PAC Administrator and Political Engagement

Capital One is seeking a dynamic and experienced campaign finance leader to join our Global Policy Affairs Group (GPAG) team within the Global Enterprise Affairs (GEA) organization. This role is responsible for overseeing Capital One’s Political Action Committee (PAC), donor relations, and GPAG’s policy and political engagement with Capital One associates. The ideal candidate will have a passion for campaign finance, a track record of effective communication (written and oral) and event management. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • PAC Management: Oversee the management of Capital One’s PAC, including fundraising, Federal Election Commission (FEC) compliance, and reporting activities. Develop and maintain relationships with PAC donors, fundraisers, ensuring effective communication and engagement to support growing fundraising and donor engagement.

  • Event Management: Plan, organize, and execute events such as get-out-the-vote initiatives, town halls, and speaking opportunities to advance Capital One’s public policy goals.

  • Written Communication: Craft and distribute a wide range of compelling written communications – including persuasive fundraising emails, concise summaries of political events, engaging PAC newsletters, and slide decks – to inform and mobilize stakeholders and apprise leadership of key political developments.

  • Associate Engagement: Develop and implement communication strategies to effectively convey Capital One’s positions, interest, and nexus on key legislative and regulatory issues to lines of business leaders, internal associate populations, and other stakeholders. 

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the full GPAG organization and other internal teams, including legal, compliance, and external consultants, to align political communications and engagement strategies with Capital One’s business objectives.

  • Contributes to team-wide strategic projects and undertakes evolving responsibilities as needed to effectively respond to the dynamic public policy environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in Political Action Committee (PAC) management, campaign finance, or donor relations 

  • At least 2 years of experience in event planning

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Public Policy, or Communications

  • At least 4 years of experience in Political Action Committee (PAC) management, campaign finance, or donor relations 

  • Advanced proficiency with PAC software, Google Workspace business apps and collaboration tools, especially Sheets and Slides, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $117,300 - $133,900 for Principal Project Manager

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
