Job Description

Title: Human Resources Manager.

Reports To: HR Director.


Job Overview:

An HR Manager is responsible for the day-to-day activities of all HR functions. They oversee recruitment, hiring, training and development, compensation and benefits, progressive discipline and employee relations. They review employment contracts and oversee benefits such as insurance, retirement plans, and disability plans.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive Human Resources strategies, policies, and procedures to support the company's business objectives, while maintaining a healthy corporate culture and work environment.
  • Processing new hire paperwork and updating employee information.
  • Conducting orientation for new employees.
  • Maintaining employee records.
  • Answering employee questions about relevant accounting & HR policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions.
  • Provide guidance, training, and coaching to new hires.
  • Help implement compensation and benefits programs, and maintain compliance with company policies as well as state and federal laws.
  • Accurately administer wage increases and file performance appraisals.
  • Investigating and resolving employee concerns or complaints.
  • Actively ensure progressive discipline is administered properly.
  • Provide guidance, training, and coaching to managers, supervisors, and subordinates on company policies and programs.
  • Be a backup for payroll.
  • Post jobs, vet resumes, schedule interviews.
  • Perform exit interviews and off boarding processes.
  • Create and send out job offers.
  • Develop recruiting strategies for job announcements, postings, and job fairs to attract top candidates.
  • Perform other duties as directed.


Objectives:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance of company policies, launch updated handbook and comply with State & Federal Labor laws.
  • Provide guidance and support to employee relations, conflict resolution, payroll, employee benefits, and payroll processing.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process.
  • Work with managers to develop performance appraisals and employee reviews.
  • Manage performance standards, rewards and recognition programs, and employee assistance programs.
  • Provide training, coaching, and counseling to employees.
  • Handle employee complaints and grievances.
  • Investigate and resolve personnel issues.
  • Provide day-to-day training and orientation for new employees.
  • Conduct exit interviews when employees leave the company.
  • Manage job applicant and employee file records.
  • Be a valued backup for accounting and other areas.


Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate should have at least a two or four-year degree in Human Resources or a related field, as well as 5 years of experience working as an HR Manager for a company with 100 to 500 employees.
  • Preferably will be a certified HR professional (or working towards certification).
  • Experience in managing human resources in a fast paced, challenging environment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
